Testo italiano in calce******************************************* Date of Meeting:Saturday, 5th June 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at the entrance to the Church of St. John and Paul in Venice Dear friends and lovers of Venice, the Public Health Committee in Venice proposes a meeting of all of those who are willing to defend the city from both the pollution which is causing its very fabric to crumble away, and from the appalling management of public works. These two factors are now at a level that threatens a cultural heritage which belongs to everybody. For those people who own property in Venice their children’s legacy is daily being devalued by the city authority’s wilful ignoring of the effects of commercial pollutants. It is now extremely important that those people who care for Venice and its future meet and unite to achieve the urgent action required, both here and abroad, to protect and defend Venice. We invite you to participate in this endeavour. Please send us ideas and suggestions which can help us to develop the campaign to make more people aware of the problems facing Venice, and how best they can be overcome. We are not party biased, and appeal to all those individuals and associations who care about Venice and its art, to join us and use their views and strengths, intellectual or otherwise, in its defence. This first meeting is set for:Saturday, 5th June, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the entrance to the Church of St. John and Paul in Venice. Cari amici e amanti di Venezia,il Comitato di Salute Pubblica a Venezia propone un incontro fra tutti coloro che, nella loro misura, ritengono di voler agire in difesa della città dallo sgretolamento e dalla pessima conduzione dei lavori pubblici. Questi due fattori sono giunti a un livello tale da costituire minaccia imminente di morte per il nostro patrimonio e la nostra eredità culturale. Per chi possegga edifici in questa città si configura inoltre il danno ulteriore sul piano del patrimonio personale. Diviene dunque di pressante urgenza che le forze morali di Venezia si incontrino e si uniscano per imprimere un più preciso livello di incisività alle azioni di difesa in Venezia e all'estero. Vi invitiamo a partecipare con le vostre testimonianze, idee e suggerimenti, per evolvere l'attuale campagna di sensibilizzazione allo stato informativo e operativo. Accetteremo al nostro fianco solo individui e Associazioni animati da un sincero amore per l'Arte e per Venezia, oltre qualsivoglia interesse di parte. Questa è pertanto una chiamata ai fedeli e ai patrioti di Venezia di accorrere in difesa della Madre Patria con le proprie energie spirituali, intellettive e fisiche.
